We don’t have many rules, but those we DO have are important. If your file is too large, your photo will take eons to upload. Too small and it won’t show up well for our viewers. So take a second to review our guidelines and save yourself the misery of mis-sizing, misloading or missing out on all the fun.
Size: A pixel is not a small fairy. It is a unit used to determine digital file size. Your photos should be at least 1200 x 800 pixels at 72 pixels per inch and a file size of 2.8MB, but no more than 4MB. Keep it simple by sending us the same size file you download from your digital camera as long as the file size is not bigger than 4MB. That works super great!
Format: We need a JPEG, JPEG, and JPEG. Not sure? Look at the end of your file name. If it reads .jpg or .jpeg, then you’re good to go. Again, the file you download from your digital camera should be a jpeg. Also, don't forget to rotate the image if needed BEFORE you upload. Otherwise, Grandma Jane may be sideways.
Source: It’s YOUR point of view we want. So make sure the picture you submit was taken by you. Also, only submit pictures from Glendale.
Be Patient: Once you hit the “Upload Now” button at the end of the photo upload process, you must wait patiently while the function completes itself. The wait time depends on your internet connection upload speed and file size. A “Photo sent” message lets you know the transaction went through. Reclick in the middle of the upload and there’s no telling what kind of chaos you’ll cause! Just kidding . . . but your photo might not upload.
Confirmation: When your photo goes through, you’ll receive a “Photo Received” message.
